On 19 and 20 November, the 5th General Assembly of MainstreamBIO was held in Madrid, where Innovarum welcomed the 10 participating partners to review the actions carried out and to plan the work for the coming months.

During the first day of the meeting, the consortium reviewed the work of the first 4 work packages, focusing on the 15+ events that will be held in the study regions of Spain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Poland and Bulgaria in order to raise awareness of the small-scale bioeconomy and exchange rural bioeconomy practices between representatives from the regions. The day ended with a cultural tour through the centre of Madrid, where the partners were able to learn more about the main historical monuments of the city.
During the second day, the consortium went through the details of the communication and coordination work packages of the project, agreeing on the most important actions and the next meetings to be held before the end of the project.
In the afternoon of the 20th, the partners joined the participants in the mutual learning event in Spain at El Capriolo, where BIO2REG project shared the experience of several rural agrotourism businesses, and aspects such as the benefits of agro and ecotourism were discussed, as well as the barriers, success factors and impact of these businesses in the rural environment. The day ended with a visit to Agroturismo El Capriolo, where Jaime Alonso, its manager, presented his business model and showed the experiences carried out there, connecting rural tourism with learning about the animals and livestock that they manage in the area.
