On April 10th, 2025, Innovarum attended a conference on bioparks organized at the Lleida-Alguaire Airport by the Diputación de Lleida, called Conference on Bioparks: an industrial model contributing to the sustainability of the Primary sector and the economy diversification, where Innovarum had the opportunity to present the MainstreamBIO project and its connection with circularity and bioeconomy in rural areas.

The event, which brought together more than 200 people, including experts, companies, research centers, high school students, and public administration representatives, served to deepen this new concept of bioeconomy, capable of generating added value within the territory and contributing to the decarbonization of the current production system.

Bioparks are industrial areas for companies that convert by-products into energy or high-value products. This model extends the resources’ lifespan and promotes a zero-waste approach. Additionally, being primarily located in rural environments, bioparks have a significant territorial component: they seek to generate economic opportunities, encourage productive diversification, and foster population retention in rural areas.

Innovarum also participated in one of the two round tables of the day, which addressed the concept of bioparks, their implementation, and opportunities. The other round table discussed strategies for the implementation of biogas plants and digestate management.
